Sisterbration is an innovative platform
for African-American women interested in learning to
live life in balance – mind, body, and spirit. The
Sisterbration mission is to educate, empower, and enlighten
African-American women with the knowledge, tools, and
resources to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Our programs and events combine information, community,
style, fun and passion and channel those into action.
Because of both the severity of disease among African-American
women and their centrality as change agents in the community,
Sisterbration offers a unique opportunity for women to
network, bond, laugh, rekindle friendships, escape the
routine demands of their hectic lives, honor one another – and
ultimately, replenish themselves so that they may continue
serving their families, churches, professions, and communities.
Toward
this end, Sisterbration delivers health education/promotion
programs targeting African-American women and their families. Each
Sisterbration program is as a high-energy health and
lifestyle event intended to promote fitness, friendship,
philanthropy, and fun by serving up a healthy dose of
education and entertainment. Sisterbration
cultivates relationships between “sisterfriends” and
provides health and wellness strategies that are culturally-relevant
and meaningful. Sisterbration
offers a unique combination of programs, monthly emails,
online community, virtual network and events in different
cities.
Sisterbration is an Alabama nonprofit (awaiting federal
