Girls Have Heart
Girls Have Heart is a chronic disease prevention program designed to combat the high prevalence of heart disease risk in minority adolescent girls and adult women. Girls Have Heart seeks to reduce the number and severity of heart disease risk factors in this population through a healthy lifestyle education program.
Throughout the year, Sisterbration sponsors targeted educational events for adult women. Under the auspices of Girls Have Heart, we engage practicing clinicians/health professionals in a series of up-to-date continuing education grand rounds.
In addition, girls in grades 6-8 participate in a curriculum-based program that provides a balance of health education and fun cardiovascular workout each week. The program is administered by trained health experts who deliver this program in local grade schools
